Kathmandu University

Kathmandu University (KU)(काठमाण्डौ विश्वविद्यालय) is associate degree freelance non-government, public establishment. it's the third oldest university in Kingdom of Nepal, placed in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok District, regarding thirty kilometre east of Kathmandu. Ku was established in 1991 with the slogan "Quality Education for Leadership". This university operates through its six faculties and from premises in Dhulikhel, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

The university provides undergrad and postgraduate programs within the fields of engineering, science, management, arts, education and medical sciences. It provides undergrad courses in engineering (civil,computer, electrical & natural philosophy, and mechanical), science (Biotechnology,environmental science, pharmacy, human biology & applied physics), management (Bachelors in Business Administration), arts (music, media, and economics). Graduate courses in atmosphere science, engineering, pharmacy, development and business administration also are offered.

When established in November 1991 as a non-profit, autonomous, public university by associate degree Act Ku became 1st in camera managed public establishment of upper learning in Kingdom of Nepal. The precursor of the university was the Kathmandu depression field supported in 1985. The field started as a non-public field related  to Tribhuvan University and offered courses in science at intermediate level (I.Sc).

Kathmandu University started its educational program in 1992 with associate degree Intermediate in Science program. In 1994, the university launched Bachelor programs in Pharmacy, Biology and Engineering (electrical and natural philosophy, laptop and mechanical). Later, Environmental Sciences was enclosed in its educational program. M.Phil and PhD programs were started in 1997.
